Metallic Pink

I mentioned it in a previous post that I did NOT need a new make up bag, but after seeing this metallic pink one at the Goodwill in Bulverde I changed my mind.
I thought this was too cute to pass up.  I'm a sucker for bows and pink. I finally retired my good ol' Victoria's Secret make up bag and now have this cute little travel case one.

The 80s Called...They Want Their Blouse Back...

I'll be the first to admit that I am NOT a big fan of the 80s (gasp!).  The music, movies, cars, fashion...it's not really my thing.  BUT that doesn't mean I'm not open to a good ol' off-the-shoulder blouse every now and then.  Case in point:

As I was browsing the racks at the Goodwill on 410, not having much luck, I spotted this little number in the XXL section.  A little tip is to not limit yourself to what your size is but take a look at everything searching for patterns, colors, and fabrics that you like.  A lot of the time sizes get moved around by customers so just keep your mind and your eyes open.  Plus if there's something you like and it's a pinch too big or too small, take it to a seamstress!

Anyway-I found this and instantly fell in love!  I'm not one to wear black but if it's adorned with sparkly sparkles then I'm game!

Now to #bragaboutthetag: $4.29!  Total total total steal!
This is one of the combos I'll be sporting this look with.  All times on here are thrifted.  The bag is from my last entry and the jeans are from my favorite consignment shop Uptown Cheapskate.  The whole outfit cost me less than $13!  To all you nay-sayers that have preconceived prejudices against shopping second hand I hope you see that it is possible to look cute from thrift stores.

Lips For Days

I'm always excited about my Goodwill/thrift/budget finds but this H&M Lip Formed It-Bag has me over the moon!  From the quirky yet cute style to the fact that it's an cross body bag to that it'll be the perfect pop of color any time of the year, it's a complete and total find!

Don't mind my toes

This bag is circa 2014 and was endorsed by Ashley Benson from the ever popular show Pretty Little Liars.  Her all white ensemble is definite inspiration on just one way to wear this handbag.  I found this little baby at the Goodwill on I10 and Dezevala for $3.99 and knew I HAD to have it!  After purchasing it I literally went straight to my car and immediately switched handbags and began using it.  Totally excited about this bag, if you can't tell!

Fall Styles on the Mind

It's AUGUST! Which means the weather will soon change to maybe about 5-10 degrees cooler in mid/south Texas, leaves change colors, and fall fashion comes in.  Fall is my favorite time of year and I can't help but start thinking of outfits already.

I found this blouse at the Goodwill in McAllen when I was there last week and I was pretty on the fence about it.  I loved it because it looked like something I would have worn in junior high or high school which with today's fashion trend is all the rage but didn't know how I'd be able to bring it to 2016's style.  I'm lucky that I was a tween/teenager during the 90s because I still have some of those hair clips and jewelry that I wore back then.  It's legit vintage and not a replica.  Anyway-I'm getting off topic.  So I didn't know what to wear this top with but knew that I could make it work with something and these are the two looks I've come up with:
Simple, cute, fall colors, yes.  The skirt is from Hollister Co. and the shoes are from DSW and are the Restricted brand.
A little bit of an older/more covered up look.  Better for the cooler weather.  Luckily I've had these shoes in my closet for a while so it's great that they can work with both outfit choices.

So those are the two outfits I've come up with so far for my tween/teenage blouse.  Like I mentioned earlier I love fall fashion and plan for it most of the year.  Which outfit is your favorite?

The Bag

I featured this gold bag on a previous post but as I was staring at it today I realized that I still have no idea what to do with it!

It's indeed purpose is to be a cosmetic bag but I already have my ol' faithful so that's out of the question.  It's a pretty big size sitting at 11.5 x 9 x 4.5".  So what would you use this bag for?

Thrifting Man Thursday

Wow, Thursday already!  And the first Thursday of August!

Isaac is a fan of lightweight short sleeve button down shirts so as his wife/personal shopper it's my job to find them.  This Old Navy shirt is from the GW on Bulverde and it's actually pretty perfect for him because it's his style and Isaac only wears two colors: blue and grey.

And here's Isaac's blog debut!  He's finally on the other side of the lens.

Here's to Thrifting Man Thursday!

RGV Finds

I went to the valley this past weekend and it's always good to visit home!  Eating REAL street tacos, papas con todo, and seeing friends and family.  When I lived in the valley I'd visit San Antonio and Austin as much as I could with my free time and now that I live in San Antonio I head to the valley as much as I can.  Go figure, right?  I never feel like I have enough time in the valley so I have to squeeze food, friends, and shopping in to less than 48 hours.

Anyway-
Of course I had to visit a Goodwill in McAllen while I was there and let me just say that they are very different from the ones here in San Antonio.  The prices are a little less expensive but the searching takes a little bit longer.  At least for me it did BUT I manage to find some cute items!

How cute are these vintage Levi's high waisted shorts?!  Total score for less than $4!  They totally remind me of me as a tween/young teen in the 90s.  I absolutely love high waisted bottoms since they flatter my body type (pear) and finding these reminded me of all those Pinterest unicorns (a Pinterest unicorn is a person who wears outfits that would look hideous on the average body look amazing on them.  Plus they are always tan, have beautiful hair, and eat whatever they want without gaining weight).    Since it's summer weather about 75% of the time in South Texas I'll be able to wear these for a good part of the year.

I also found this gold bag which at this point I have no use for but I'm pretty sure I'll come up with something good for it.  Sometimes I slip back in to old habits of purchasing things that maayyybeee I shouldn't but hey, I'm only human.  What do you think this gold bag would be good for?

Hopefully next time I make a trip to the valley I can stay a little bit longer than just a weekend so I can have more time to catch up with everyone.

Pretty Little Gifts

We're all familiar with the phrase "it's better to give than to receive" and it's definitely true.  One of my friends is getting married soon and when I saw this little cutie I knew she had to have it!

I found this at the Goodwill on Bulverde and 1604 and knew it was absolutely perfect for Donna!  When you're the bride-to-be it's always nice to be surprised with little gifts so I'm glad that I was able to find this for her.

Flowers On The Wall

Let's face it, floral artwork can teeter on the "hotel room" feel at times. However, when you find a piece that is cute, quaint, and charming you've gotta grab it.

I found this piece at the Goodwill on 281 and Thousand Oaks the other day for $2.99.  Frames can cost more than the artwork itself so if you find a piece that you like while thrifting and it has a good frame around it I say go for it.

As I continue to blog I'll post more pictures of the other home decor items I've found at Goodwill since moving to San Antonio. Believe me, I have a lot!

Thanks for stopping by!  If you have any questions or comments feel free to ask below OR shoot me an email at CynthiaEdee@gmail.com.  Thanks!

Pink Looks Good On Everything

I've been having some wonderful luck at Goodwill lately!  After my sister and brother-in-law left back to Dallas this afternoon Isaac and I made a quick trip to the Goodwill on 281 and Thousand Oaks.  I was coming up pretty empty handed in the clothing side so I moseyed myself on over to the shoes and decor section and that's when the Goodwill Gods smiled upon me!

How perfect are these pink New Balance sneakers?!  I've been pinning pink sneakers on pinterest lately and I feel like somehow by doing that the sneakers have magically manifested themselves in front of me!  The crazier thing is that they are exactly my size and don't appear to have been worn.  *cue eerie music*

Currently they are retailing for about $99 online but I was lucky enough to find them for $9.99!  Total steal!

Truth be told I'm not much of a tennis shoe person but I do have a thing for sneakers with suede.  I can't wait to wear these with skinny jeans in the fall/winter.  This heat is no joke and just the thought of wearing pants outdoors during this season makes me break in to a sweat.

Anyway-I'm really excited about this find!  I did make other Goodwill purchases today that I'll share in another entry.  Thanks for reading!

Be The Pineapple

Pineapples are hot, hot hot, this summer!  And why shouldn't they be?  They're delicious, nice to look at, and are great in a cocktail.

I found this shirt at the Goodwill on I10 and Dezevala for $2!  I've had it since April but I'm not much of a t-shirt girl even though I have a slew of them in my closet.  I finally found a combo for wearing tees that works for me: high waisted shorts/jeans with the tee tucked in.  Gives it a major 70s vibe.  Off topic.  Anyway-this shirt is from JC Penney and is adorable.  I've seen similar shirts at H&M and Forever21 ranging anywhere between $15-$30 so I'm pretty thrilled that I found this at the price I did.

Feel free to share your favorite pineapple accessories! Besides the shirt this is one of my favorite:

My good friends Victor and Lori gave it to me for Christmas.  Describes me to a "T"!

Hope y'all are having fun out there in the summer heat!  Stay cool and be sure to donate to your local thrift stores!

Tips

Hey out there!

Here's a little tip for y'all: right now is prime time to be stocking up for your fall/winter wardrobe!  I know it sounds crazy to be thinking of buying suede, leather, jackets, sweaters when it's 100 degrees outside but trust me on this.  With summer in its prime time people are sick of looking at clothes that make them break in to a sweat just looking at them.  Thankfully so many of these people donate their clothes and that's where we come in!

Here are a few of my fall/winter finds from today:

This suede purple skirt was too cute to pass up.  It's high waisted and has a small slit on the left leg.  I love high waisted skirts because they're so versatile.  You can wear a blouse over them, tuck it in, if it's a button down blouse you can tie a knot at the end.  Plus the fact that it's purple makes it all the better (since it's my favorite color).  I found this at the Goodwill on I10 and Dezevala and it was $4.29.  They have the sweetest employee there who greets everyone and sings all day. Half of the reason why I love that location is because of her.

Next we have this awesome Wilson's Leather high waisted mini skirt. Can you tell I really like high waisted bottoms?  I found this little gem at my favorite consignment shop Uptown Cheapskate at the Huebner Oaks shopping center and it was only $9.99!  Total steal!  If I'm anything I'm consistent with my style and this skirt is extremely similar to the purple suede one in terms of fit and cut, but when you find what works for you you stick with it!  I'm really excited to wear this in the fall/winter time.  I already have a few outfits planned for this baby.  (PS my blouse in this photo is from Goodwill, also.  It's by Zara and I snagged it for $2!)

Again, I know this summer heat makes me look crazy for trying on coats, jackets, sweaters, etc. right now but it'll be paying off soon!  Keep yourselves cool out there and don't hesitate to email me at CynthiaEdee@gmail.com if you have any questions!
