The older I get the more I am pleased by the simpler things.
I never really took time to think about how having "me-time" (that did not include shopping) would be so satisfying.
Tonight I'm doing my nightly ritual: in my clean spotless bedroom (bathroom included), on my perfectly made bed, with my salt lamp and diffuser on, listening to Lana Del Rey radio on my Alexa and reading a library book on my iPad.
Literally, this is bliss for me. This is the perfect "me-time."
I didn't realize it until tonight that I had created a pattern that relaxes me. Usually after I get home I'm cleaning, referring dogs to not play to rough with the cats, watching tv, going to the grocery store, etc. But every night around 9 o'clock I retire to the bedroom and start my little "winding down" ritual.
I hope that everyone has something that helps them to relax or reconnect with themselves. It's so important to be able to just be yourself, even if it's for only five minutes.
Okay-enough blogging-time to get back to my current read: Circe.
