Well, wuddyaknow, I did it again that I abandoned my blog.
Like most people I go through what I call "social media phases" much like the phases of the moon. I'll be super in to posting, and content, and liking and following, and stats, etc - then next thing you know I'm off the grid, social media annoys me, it gives me headaches, I have a "who cares" mentality. Then BAM - I'm back to part one all over again.
So tonight as I was moving around my parents house (I did a stay-cation in my hometown) I was thinking about how I wanted to share something on social media but not go through the rings and hoops of fire to get a good picture, but just post...the way blogging USED to be.
And then I remembered that I had this dormant blog. So it took a little bit of time but I was able to log back in to it and here we are.
So with all of that being said - here are my revised intentions for this blog:
- I will not feel "social media pressure." That goes for all aspects : posting on a schedule, feeling the need to create content, comparing myself to others.
- I don't have a "nitch" with this blog. I'm not a "lifestyle," "fashion," "travel," anything blogger. I'm not even going to go as far as say that I'm a blogger. I'm just a gal with a blog.
- I'm going to post what I want, when I want. If I feel like sharing an outfit, so be it. If I feel like sharing my part of a conversation with someone, I will. I'm not going to tight-rope this.
That's pretty much it! I can't promise that I won't drop this blog again, but it's worth (another) shot. Once upon a time blogging wasn't about posing in front of colorful walls or murals (not that I WON'T ever do that, because believe me, I will), or not wearing the same outfit twice, or promoting spending money on the next "it" thing. It used to be about sharing and finding a community. And that's what I'm going to try to re-embrace.
So here we go again! Round 100000000.
