I have many a tee hanging in my closet that end up folded in a drawer. I've always liked tees but whenever it came to wearing one out and about I felt like they were "too casual" for my style. Also seeing myself in a tee reminds me of what I looked like in jr. high (not my most flattering years) so clearly I'm complicated about this particular article of clothing.
However, I knew that there had to be something I could do to spruce up my t-shirts. Cue: a hat!

One of my style goals for the year was to utilize accessories more. I've liked hats but have been intimated by them. I thought I'd look silly or like I was trying too hard and that people would judge me. But you know what I've learned? The mean people exist only in your head. Not to say that there aren't haters and trolls out there but I've been lucky to continuously be finding supportive and amazing people who lift me up.
Anyway-back to the topic at hand-this hat was a perfect addition to elevate a regular tee and shorts outfit. Besides being fashionable it's also functional since it's been extra hot and humid lately because of the rain.
