LBD Makeover

Making the items in my closet as multi-functional as possible is becoming increasingly important to me.  It allows for me to use something that I love for different occasions.  It also allows me the opportunity to utilize my accessories that, more times than not, get shoved into the back of my closet known as The Vortex.

One thing that a lot of us have in our closet is the LBD (Little Black Dress).  Whether it's a wear-to-work or a sundress there are various ways that it can be styled.

Cue this Cynthia Rowley dress that I scored at Goodwill.  It's a fantastic dress that I've styled in various ways.  Here are a few looks:

1-Make it Blue

Isn't this scarf gorgeous?!  Another Goodwill find!  It's the perfect pop of color for a plain black (or white) dress.  The scarf received many compliments when I wore it to work.  If you have any scarves in your drawers or closets, bust them out!  Youtube or Pinterest ways to style and tie them.  That's what I did!

2-Two Hats-Two Vibes
Hats are a very foreign accessory for me.  I've always felt self-conscious about wearing one for whatever reasons I've made up in my mind.  But you know what-the mean people only exist in our heads so here I am-wearing hats!
This a 100% wool hat (from Goodwill) which gives me a more evening/dinner date kind of vibe.  It's a quick way to give a more sophisticated and stylish look to your LBD.  I'll probably wear it more in the fall/winter time.
The straw hat is also from Goodwill.  This look is much more daytime or perfect for a hot summer evening.  I'm definitely going to be getting a lot of use out of this hat during the season.

The options of how to style a LBD are endless.  I love to see how you all style one piece of clothing in different ways so don't be shy to show me!

Hope that y'all were able to take a little somethin'-somethin' from this post! Again-if you don't follow me on instagram you really should!  Find me @CynthiaEdee!

Denim Love

I'm not a big denim jean wearer but if I could find someone who could jazz up my jeans like this then I think I'd make an exception.

I am more than willing to pay someone to get artsy with my jeans.  I specifically want heart print jeans and the ones with the flower on the back pocket (and possibly elsewhere on the jeans).  If you think you're that person, let me know!

Thanks! I Got It At...

'll keep this post short and sweet:

As I was running around to the different thrift stores I realized something: My entire outfit was from Goodwill!  Some people have hesitations about shopping at thrift stores for various reasons and I can respect that.  With this blog as my platform I intend to promote the supporting of non-profit organizations while being able to be fashionable, current, stylish, and maintain expenses. My motto: Life's too short to have on a bad outfit, have bad hair, or pay too much for for style.

To be a thrifter it definitely does take a level of dedication and open-mindedness and that's exactly what I have so I'm the perfect person for the job.
Who doesn't love a good mirror pic?

Sheer top with beaded bow-$2
Love the beading on this top.
I had featured this skirt on an earlier post about alterations.
I had good luck for once finding shoes at Goodwill!  $6.99!

Fiesta Fashion pt. 2

Fiesta Fashion entry part 2!

Accessories can be the most fun part of an entire outfit!  Keeping with the festive and colorful theme I found the most vibrant items at Goodwill.

Now these high heels would def. be good for Fiesta AND non-Fiesta related events.  My personal favorite was the studded pair on the right but they weren't my size.  That's a pretty typical scenario for me when it comes to shoes at Goodwill or thrift shopping.  I'll find a pair that I love (see my instagram ((CynthiaEdee)) for those adorable Zara flats) and it's the total opposite of a Cinderella story.  Sigh!
These Yellow Box jeweled t-strap sandals are perfect if heels aren't your thing.  I LOVE candy jewels and these were perfect!  I could see them paired with a maxi dress/skirt and when you walk the jewels catch the light.

Lastly: this belt. I'm kind of regretting not buying it as I'm writing about it but oh well. The colors scream Fiesta! I'm envisioning it being worn with a basic white top, flare cut jeans, colorful wedges, and a flower crown with matching colors!  Seriously, I'm beginning to regret not purchasing it.

If y'all are in the San Antonio area be sure to look up any Fiesta related events that you can catch!  If you take super duper cute pictures hashtag #fromthrifttothrill so I can check it out and gain more inspiration!  Also stop by any Goodwill in SATX and purchase your Fiesta Medal.  Along with the one I bought for myself I also got one for my mom, sister, and friend Victor.  Support Goodwill!

Hope y'all liked my Fiesta finds!  Be sure to follow my other social media outlets located at the top of my page!

Fiesta Fashions pt. 1

I'm One word: FIESTA!!!!

Fiesta is about to kick off here in good ol' San Antonio which means parades, colorful outfits, Fiesta Medals, and lots and lots of FOOD!  This will be my first year going to Fiesta so I'm totally excited!  Not to mention that I'm the festive type so today I challenged myself to find an outfit and accessories for NIOSA (Night In Old San Antonio) at where else, Goodwill!

Goodwill has so many options to choose from so I'm going to dedicate TWO blogs to possible Fiesta ideas for my readers.  Sizes, colors, styles all varied and each screamed FIESTA!

So for this first entry I wanted to focus on the outfit portion of a fun and festive Fiesta/NIOSA ensemble.

When I hear the words "festive" "fun" "fiesta" I think of pops of color, sparkles, and the gaudier the better!

The first item I stumbled upon was this racerback tank from Express size large (price 14.99).  What I love the most about it is that the sequins are just as dramatic in the back as in the front.  I personally prefer any adornment done to an article of clothing to be "complete" in that sense that the pizazz and flare flows to the back instead of kind of just ending at the side seams in the front.  This would make a great tank for someone who's looking to sparkle and stand out and still be cool and fresh outside (hey, South Texas heat is no joke!)

This Charlotte Russe (size medium, price $4.29) spaghetti string tank was another item that caught my eye that could be Fiesta-ish.  It's full of color, patterns, and has that gorgeous embellishment on the bust.

So this blue tank stood out to me the minute I laid eyes on it.  I love that shade of blue (reminds me of a peacock) and then with those gold sequins YAS!  The brand is Star City (never heard of it) and it's a size Medium.  This ended up being something that I purchased for myself at a whopping $4.29!  It's definitely a contender to be my blouse for NIOSA.

Truth be told this white with gold sequin blouse is a line for girls but hey it fit!  I broke my own rule on this one about the drama and flare of the blouse ending in the front but since it was so cute I was willing to let it slide.  The brand is Dreampop and it was $4.29.

I also came across this super duper colorful skirt size XXL for $4.29 also.  On the right person I could totally see this at Fiesta!  It's loud, colorful, and whimsical.  Festivals are all about being comfortable and whoever wears this would definitely be able to walk around, dance, eat, and drink without feeling uncomfortable.

Lastly-if the sequins and loud skirt isn't your cup of tea then you can't go wrong with colorful pants and Goodwill has a slew of them!  On one of my previous blogs I showcased a pair of pink floral jeans I purchased for less than $5.  The key is to just try things on.

Don't forget to get your Fiesta Medal at any of the Goodwills around town!  Only $7!  This is my first official Fiesta Medal and it couldn't have been more suiting that it was a Goodwill one!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for Fiesta Fashions pt. 2!  Be sure to follow my instagram (CynthiaEdee) and my snapchat (CynthiaEdee) for more updates on my daily shenanigans!
